Euthanasia Right Or Wrong

Mar 2, 2008 Author: Ella | Filed under: General Blog

I was watching Shameless the other night and in that particular episode there was a woman who had Alzheimer’s Disease, who eventually asked her daughter to give her her pills so she can take her own life… Euthanasia.

Euthanasia is a sore subject and as of yet illegal, but surely if it is the individuals decision then there shouldn’t be a problem with it, freedom of choice and all that, fair play it’s a pressure to put someone you love in that position, but in the long run it wouldn’t be half as stressful as watching the person you love trapped inside a body that you once remembered, lets say as a party animal or a determined career person.

It is a subject that I have discussed with my fiancé and mother about on numerous occasions, god forbid it doesn’t happen to me, but if I was left in a dependant or vegetative state then  my wish is for me to take my own life with their assistance if need be.
I would not want to rely on them wiping my ass or having to feed me, it would hurt them I know, but I wouldn’t want to burden them, I would rather them have a happy life knowing that wherever I may end up I will be in a better place.

When my uncle was younger he was quite an aggressive feisty man who threw his weight around, when he hit his 40s he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease, for 10 years he coped well with it but then he started deteriorating, he couldn’t walk on occasions, nor talk, he was pretty much bed ridden, he had been so frustrated with being in that situation that he often asked my aunt to help him die which she totally refused to do, so he used to take out his drips or refuse to eat, hoping it would bring his death nearer but it didn’t. He suffered several months like this, in addition he was depressed and sometimes angry because no one would help him die, in the end he did pass away but it was through pneumonia. To see a man that had once been strong and volatile ebb down to a frail, man was stressful in itself, if it had been me, I would have also asked for help to end the pain.

As I am writing this, my fiancé is reading it over my shoulder and telling me it’s one sided, and saying that he loves me therefore he would take care of me ..whatever, he has refused to help me if that situation ever arises. So for now I will end the subject, but he knows my wishes.

Jersey Home Of Horrors

Mar 1, 2008 Author: Ella | Filed under: Crime

In the British news this week, it has been said that Forensic teams have been  searching secret chambers below a former Jersey care home where over 140 victims have claimed they were abused since the 1960s. Three secret underground chambers have been found at Haut de la Garenne in Jersey, which were bricked up.
Police have started to clear one chamber, where they have found two items which they said confirm victims’ claims of being abused, and it is reported among the items are a bath which was bolted to the floor, shackles and other restraining equipment.Victims have claimed the rooms were used for abuse and have described being raped, drugged and flogged. The Police got more than 80 calls over past few days relating to alleged abuse at the old childrens home.
The search began after police found a child’s skull at Haut de la Garenne and are now excavating seven sites which were identified by a sniffer dog specially trained to find human remains. 40 suspects are to be questioned with one arrest already being made.
Screams were supposedly have been heard with children going missing the next day, the remaining children were told they had either run away or found new homes.
This is a despicable act of crime, with some sick people torturing and abusing defenseless children, how nothing was done about it before now is beyond me, surely there was tell tale signs that something so sordid was going on, or even reports from victims. The crimes were believed to have happened between 1960 -2007, most if not all  of those children that have survived the home are now damaged for life, and no doubt suffering either depression or other mental problems.

I hope they name and shame the sick b*":*ds that have inflicted this pain on those poor souls.
It seems you can’t trust anyone these days, children are left in the hands of people with authority and it turns out to be those are the ones you have to avoid, what with priests and vicars well known for abusing children to, care home workers and foster parents. Don’t get me wrong I’m not tarring them all with the same brush as there are people of these professions that do genuinely care about the welfare of children, but it does make you doubt .

Worm Features

Feb 29, 2008 Author: Ella | Filed under: Videos

I’m the sort of girl that tends to be intrigued by programmes such as Autopsy and Forensic Detectives and am not really squeamish about such subjects, It fascinates me how the body works and what can sometimes cause certain diseases and what effects it has on our body. I am totally aware that our bodies also have particular parasites, for example tape worm, if I had one I wouldn’t be aware of it, unless it was scoffing on my curry and I still felt like I was being starved.

I don’t exactly know why I did a search on parasites as nothing was even relevant. I wasn’t watching documentaries or even anything on bugs, I ended up finding some video footage on Bott Larvae, I had seen them before when an English woman had visited foreign lands and some weeks later felt something moving under her skin after being, what she thought bitten. when she went to the doctors thats when they discovered the larvae, what a horrible thought, something I would definitely not like to experience.

What did make me squeamish however is this following video, apparently you can only get this parasite in Eastern countries….

It looked to me like the man was rubbing a plum onto his skin to extract these worm like thingies, but it was probably alcohol based.Never the less I will definitely make sure I used my cleansers and toners more often, if not that, a huge bar of disinfectant soap. What I want to know is did this man feel them in in skin in the first instance, hence why he went to see this man who cured him,, ewww gosh it doesn’t bare thinking about does it.

Beware Fake Entrecards

Feb 28, 2008 Author: Ella | Filed under: General Blog

As I was dropping some cards this morning I noticed there’s some crafty bleeders out there when it comes to advertising, I don’t mind helping people out by  clicking on their adverts but to do it craftily is,well to be honest downright bloody cheeky. It was probably my foolishness that made me think it was anything but an advert so I am going to be more aware from now on, as I said I don’t mind helping out anyone so they can earn some pennies but this is so wrong. I wouldn’t feel right conning  someone into clicking on my adverts by displaying a  Fake Entrecard, because it’s freedom of choice, whether they want to click your adverts or not .The Entrecard on the right is the dodgy card, so if you do see any others like this one, which I came across, avoid clicking as it isn’t anything other than a ploy to earn them extra cents falsely.

Game show Audition Update

Feb 27, 2008 Author: Ella | Filed under: General Blog

After finishing work yesterday I had to loiter in some shops before attending my audition, which was hard because I had no money to spend, and I was tempted by so many things, mainly new clothes. Then I arrived at the venue an hour earlier then intended, so also ended up standing outside in the cold gales before I decided I’d had enough. So I entered the hotel and wasn’t surprised to see I was the first one there, looking keen and eager or what .

Well anyway as the other auditionees slowly filled the waiting zone we all began chatting among ourselves, getting to know one another before being ushered into  the room where we were to be "tested". There was your typical larger man with a personality to knock Chris Le Roc sideways, a desperate looking unemployed charver, and several other distinguished characters, and then there was me, all in all there was ten of us all together waiting for our challenge.

We all sat round a table with big name stickers across our chests with cameras pointing at us, then one of the casting crew introduced herself, then asked us each to tell the rest of the entrants a bit about ourselves for 30 seconds, that wasn’t a problem for me as I can babble for England. After that we then each had to take turns in telling one truth and one lie while the others asked questions to decipher which was the truth or lie then vote on what we thought, well lets just say I wasn’t a very good liar, If I’d used my brains I could have fooled them by telling two truths which in itself would have been a lie, but there you go, too late to do anything about it now.

After the truth/lie  detecting we were then told to go into another room for a few minutes while they decided on who continues with the next part, which was a dummy run of the game show. Well it didn’t take them long as no sooner had we stepped in the other room, they entered and called five of the deceiving entrants upstairs then told us honest peeps that if we didn’t hear nothing by next week then we hadn’t got through, well I’m not a liar and I’m not stupid, so I can pretty much say I didn’t get through, and won’t be going on the show, it’s basically their soft approach of saying you silly f*’#king losers you ain’t getting in.

It was a great experience though and we had a laugh so I wouldn’t have changed anything, apart from obviously getting through to the dummy run. I’ll just put it down to another one of my lifes experiences, and life goes on. All in all it just goes to show I’m an honest person and that’s something I can be proud of, even if it does mean I’m going to miss out on the chance to win a small fortune.

Over Her Dead Body

Feb 26, 2008 Author: Ella | Filed under: Film Reviews

A film about a bride that unfortunately dies before she gets to make her vows and is left in limbo while the groom grieves. After a year passes the grooms sister introduces him to a psychic and asks her to lie to help him get on with his life, but she slowly falls in love with him and visa versa, but the dead bride to be shows herself to the medium and is adamant not to let her win his heart, and causes chaos for her.

This film is easy going with some funny moments, it’s more of a chick flick, but if you have a man that is in touch with his feminine side then is a cool film to sit and watch together. Get out the popcorn.

Dont Forget Madeleine

Feb 25, 2008 Author: Ella | Filed under: Crime

Some if not most of you have heard the story about Madeleine, who went missing whilst asleep in her parents holiday home in Praia da Luz, Portugal.

It has now been nine months since little Madeleine Mgcann has been missing, and her parents as well as others are still in active search for her. As of yet their search has been based mainly in Europe, maybe now it is time to look further afield.

Madeleine was abducted on 3rd May 2007, just before her 4th birthday. She was taken from her parents holiday apartment where she was sleeping with her siblings, whilst her parents were dining 50 yards away. Despite a massive investigation led by the Portuguese police and being supported by the British police, no-one knows who has taken her, why she was taken or where she is. As time goes on the fears for her safety grows, there have been a few sightings, which have turned out to be fruitless.

As you can see from her photograph she has a very distinctive mark in her right eye, which cannot be altered, although her appearance may have changed. If anybody has valid reason in thinking they may have seen her, there is a contact number you can call.

Let’s not give up the search.

Gene Genie

Feb 23, 2008 Author: Ella | Filed under: Ashes to Ashes

I don’t exactly know what it is and I cant put my finger on it, but Gene hunt is so darn sexy, he’s not overly handsome by any means but he has a quality that oozes sex appeal, whether it’s his macho image or his witty quotes I don’t know, I’d gladly commit a crime if I knew he was going to interrogate me and give me a little chastising hehe.

Any way here is a nice selection of some of his quotes, you just gotta love to love them…

  • My idea of a dream is Diana Dors and a bottle of chip oil.
  • Hands up! You’re surrounded by armed bastards!
  • You great, soft, cissy, nancy, French, bender, Man United supporting poof!
  • I’m Gene Hunt, your DCI and its 1973. Almost dinnertime. I’m having hoops!
  • Do you know, I once hit a bloke for speaking French!
  • I think she’s as fake as a tranny’s fanny.
  • Drugs, eh? What’s the point. They make you forget, make you talk funny, make you see things that aren’t there. My old grandma got all of that for free when she had a stroke.
  • He’s got fingers in more pies than a leper on a cookery course.
  • She’s as nervous as a very small nun at a penguin shoot.
  • Now, yesterday’s shooting. The dealers are all so scared we’re more likely to get Helen Keller to talk.
  • The Paki in a coma’s about as lively as Liberace’s dick when he’s looking at a naked woman, all in all this investigation’s going at the speed of a spastic in a magnet factory.
  • There will never be a woman prime minister as long as I have a hole in my arse.
  • Oh, well let’s entertain it, let’s take it out for a prawn cocktail, a steak and a bottle of Liebfraumilch, then let’s kick it into the gutter where it belongs!
  • Blardy, blardy, history bloody blardy. It doesn’t take a degree in applied bollocks to know what’s going on!
  • Listen, you’re not the one who’s going to have to knit himself a new arse after 25 years of aggressive male affection in prison showers, I’m coming with you!.
  • Oi! Referee! Has anyone ever told you you need glasses, you dozy git? Next time, I run you over!
  • I’m not a Catholic me’self Mr Warren, but isn’t there something in the Bible about Thou shalt not suck off rent boys?
  • Anything happens to this motor, I’ll come round your houses and stomp on all your toys. Got it? Good kids.
  • You think our future king wants to become a tampon, thats not what counts.
  • Oh just lie back and think of Cheltenham, it’ll be over in a jiffy.
  • Your son Mrs. Bathurst was a cold-hearted killer and if there’s a hell, he’s going there to be poked up the arse with sharp fiery sticks forever and ever, Amen.
  • You so much as belch out of line and I’ll have your scrotum on a barbed wire plate.
  • Let’s fire up the Quattro.
  • I’ve come at this from more angles than Linda Lovelace.
  • Do you know, if you were Pinocchio, you would have just poked my eye out.
  • What are you doing now, listening for indian drums.
  • I listen to the snot in my hankie before I listen to you.

Guilty For Murder But No Body

Feb 22, 2008 Author: Ella | Filed under: Crime

A couple of days ago it was announced on the news, that a man called David Hodgson had been charged and found guilty with the murder of a young girl named Jenny Nicholls. She was a 19 year old girl that vanished in 2005. As of yet her body has not been found. It is said that her body was dumped in a field in Yorkshire somewhere, but the exact spot is unknown.

The police arrested a David Hodgson for her murder, apparently he had been her middle aged lover who was quite controlling and possessive. he  was eventually found guilty by unanimous decision, for her murder two days ago and  was given a life sentence, to serve a minimum of eighteen years. I always thought you couldn’t be charged with a murder unless there is a body, but obviously there was enough evidence to suggest he committed the crime. It just goes to show that in the end, justice will be done.

My thoughts are with the Jenny’s family who must be tormented by not being able to lay her body at rest in sacred grounds and not being given a proper burial in mark of respect.

Perhaps someday they will get spiritual guidance as where her body is lain, and give her the burial she so rightly deserves.
