Thats my Point of View
After 10 weeks of Dancing On Ice last night was the final. I have to say the show was outstanding, the only downfall really was that they dragged the show out to make it stretch the 2 hours worth of viewing, with two skatings by Christopher Dean & Jayne Torville, good as they were, the skaters that were previously knocked out through the show and just the hosts having a general chit chat. I just wanted to see the skaters do their stuff. When I did I wasn’t disappointed. There was some superb skating from the 3 remaining finalists, Suzanne, Chris and Zaraah.
Zaraah who respectfully came in 3rd, collected several sixes for her beautiful floaty flying performance as well as her favorite from the series, personally I thought both performances were better than Chris’s. His performance in the air was a bit awkward with his transitions being either out of sync or a tad clumsy, despite this he was able to have a stab at choreographing his own rendition of Christopher & Jane’s Bolero, which was good but didn’t win the crown, so he came in 2nd.
Rightfully deserving to be crowned champion though was Suzanne Shaw, her performance throughout the evening was just amazing, sweeping the scoreboard on both her flying performance, which was out of this world, and her chosen favorite. But It was her version of the Bolero that clinched it for her, doing some daring moves, a twisting head banging thing, which Robin Cousin’s said " I have only seen one other couple doing that move, and they have been skating together for ten years". All the judges at one point had tears in their eyes as well as Suzanne’s son who was watching her perform, in fact I may have had a little moistening of the tear ducts myself, only because the cameras panned to her son who was balling his eyes out …honest.
So there you have it some great performances from this years show, I hope next years will be just as interesting as this, I’ll be looking forward to it.
Congratulations Suzanne Shaw Dancing On Ice Champion 2008.

Well they’ve managed to survive several weeks of, setbacks, slip ups and some nasty knocks. The final four did a great job of showing their new found skills last night, I didn’t catch the first half hour of it last night as I was finishing of my decorating, but what I did catch of Gareth Gates performance to Bon Jovi’s Living On A Prayer didn’t impress me, it looked a bit stiff in places, but he gave all he had so he should be proud even though he didn’t make it through to the finals.
Suzanne Shaw skated brilliant to The bangles Eternal Flame and looked amazing in her solo even though apparently she improvised, I wouldn’t have known if it hadn’t of been for Christopher Dean mentioning it, she always seems to have great poise when she does her lifts and looks elegant with it, even though she says she was nervous she always seems to look professional and constantly has a lovely smile.
Zaraah Abrahams, well she’s a bit of a dark horse, last week she didn’t do so well but totally made up for it this week, she showed so much passion to a great song by U2 and Mary J Blige’s One and executed her lifts fantastically, considering she has been in the competition for less time than the others it makes you wonder how great she would have been given the same length of time to perform.
Chris Fountain who skated to Ricky Martin’s Livin La Vida Loca is great, but he definitely knows it, from week one he has been determined to show of his skills, personally I think he had an unfair advantage in the first place, what with being an ice hockey player.
I have no doubt that the final two will be Chris and Suzanne as they both have been consistent with their performances, I do hope though that Suzanne will come first as she has had to start from scratch with Chris taking a close second and Zaraah, not to be shrugged at in third place.

Chris Fountain gave an amazing performance in Dancing On Ice on Sunday evening ,if it hadn’t been for his little falter on one of his lifts it would have been perfect 6s all round, is he just getting a little big cocky now though, he has been very talented and competitive from the offset, which you can’t blame him, after all it is a competition.
Suzanne Shaw also gave a very fine performance as did Zaraah Abrahams, they also looked stunning in their outfits, ice skating is certainly doing justice for their already perfect figures. My bets are going to definitely be on these three to be in the finals. Gareth Gates is getting a bit wobbly on his skates now, perhaps thats down to him being a perfectionist, nothing wrong in that, but if you try too hard, mistakes can and usually will happen. Saying that I wish I could glide on the ice like they all are, it may just be envy on my part that I am criticizing.

Zaraah Abrahams is definitely giving Gareth Gates, Suzanne Shaw and Chris Fountain a run for their money . After only joining the show last week because the unfortunate Michael Underwood had to withdraw, she has shown that she is just as capable of reaching the finals as much as those who have been in the show for the past four weeks or so. Each week the stars are improving and taking more risks, although some still remain a little stagnant. Chris Fountains ice version of Rock Horor Picture Show was highly entertaining as was Suzanne Shaws rendition of Fame. It was a shame to see Aggie go as I think she was quite gutsy and didn’t give up, despite that awful Jason putting her every move down. I’d love to see what he can do on the ice except polish it with his ass. The competition will hot up pretty soon, with props being introduced and more riskier lifts as well as faster paced music tracks. It’s pretty hard to decipher who will be the winner this year as there are four potential winners, and they are all going to put up a fight to the end … best of luck to them all.

As a viewer of TV shows such as Dancing On ice , I can’t help but think that some of the stars are actually has beens who want to be recognised yet again, after all some of them have not been in the limelight for years. Fair-play to them though ,as they are doing something which is completely out of their comfort zones , I mean, I can’t even stand on ice , let alone dance on the stuff. I really felt for Micheal Underwood this week, as he was clearly devastated when told his ankle was broken and could not continue with the show, he was genuinely enjoying the experience, more than I can say for some who I shall not mention… then you have the competitive ones who are determined to show they have got more then acting , or singing skills lets face it some of them have got neither. So blog readers what are your opinions on the subject , are these stars really talented in this new field or just trying to make a bigger name for themselves?
