Thats my Point of View

Emotionally and weathered detective Eddie breaks in his new partner Helen (Melissa George, some of you may remember from the Aussie soap Home & Away playing Angel) on a grisly series of murders where the victims come in twos, one is savagely electrocuted with the word Waz carved into their flesh and the other, usually a loved one, horrendously tortured to death. Investigation into the mysterious signature reveals it to be the formula that there is no altruism or genuine selflessness in nature, and unearths the gruesome motivation of the slayings, someone is putting people to the ultimate test of love, wherein they must endure stark physical torture that can only be ended by pulling a switch to electrocute the one closest to their hearts. Unbeknown to Helen, the detective knows the killer and has at some point dealt with them, that is why he is involved and he’s paying for his past mistakes.
Not a bad movie, a clever film but it was a bit slow at times. I was anticipating that it was going to have me on the edge of my seat like Seven did(as thats what they claimed it was like) but was slightly disappointed. A very dark and gritty film which is not for the faint hearted as some of the torture scenes make you wince and are very brutal, so steer clear if your not up for the brutality of it. There was a lot of dark scenes in the movie but all in all is worth watching.

After 10 weeks of Dancing On Ice last night was the final. I have to say the show was outstanding, the only downfall really was that they dragged the show out to make it stretch the 2 hours worth of viewing, with two skatings by Christopher Dean & Jayne Torville, good as they were, the skaters that were previously knocked out through the show and just the hosts having a general chit chat. I just wanted to see the skaters do their stuff. When I did I wasn’t disappointed. There was some superb skating from the 3 remaining finalists, Suzanne, Chris and Zaraah.
Zaraah who respectfully came in 3rd, collected several sixes for her beautiful floaty flying performance as well as her favorite from the series, personally I thought both performances were better than Chris’s. His performance in the air was a bit awkward with his transitions being either out of sync or a tad clumsy, despite this he was able to have a stab at choreographing his own rendition of Christopher & Jane’s Bolero, which was good but didn’t win the crown, so he came in 2nd.
Rightfully deserving to be crowned champion though was Suzanne Shaw, her performance throughout the evening was just amazing, sweeping the scoreboard on both her flying performance, which was out of this world, and her chosen favorite. But It was her version of the Bolero that clinched it for her, doing some daring moves, a twisting head banging thing, which Robin Cousin’s said " I have only seen one other couple doing that move, and they have been skating together for ten years". All the judges at one point had tears in their eyes as well as Suzanne’s son who was watching her perform, in fact I may have had a little moistening of the tear ducts myself, only because the cameras panned to her son who was balling his eyes out …honest.
So there you have it some great performances from this years show, I hope next years will be just as interesting as this, I’ll be looking forward to it.
Congratulations Suzanne Shaw Dancing On Ice Champion 2008.

The young schoolgirl Shannon Matthews who went missing 24 days ago was found safe and unharmed yesterday.

The 9 year old who went missing from her hometown in West yorkshire was found in the base of a Divan bed at a 39 year old mans flat in Dewsbury, a mile from her home. She is said to have been found when police went to do a routine search on a house, the owner refused to let them gain access so they had to break the door down, where upon they found the young girl concealed in the bed base, As of yet there looks to be no harm come to the young girl and she appeared quite calm, the mother, earlier in the week made a statement that she thought it may have been someone she knows, who was trying to hurt her.
Thankfully this young girl has been found safe and well, lets hope the same goes for little Madeleine Mcgann

Being a 38 year old I think I’m pretty "with it" as far as music goes and enjoy most types of modern songs, but today on my way home I was irritated by a couple of youngsters that got on the metro.
I was sitting there peacefully looking out of the window when a young lad and lass got on, they must’ve only been about 16. The lad was your typical Chav wearing trackie bottoms and matching top but in a different colour, with more bling than a jewelery shop. The lass weren’t much better, In fact I weren’t even sure if she was a female as she looked so much like a boy, the only thing that give her away was the bumps in her top, unless they were man boobs (she was on the plump side). Anyway as I was saying, I was sitting there daydreaming about being on a nice hot tropical beach somewhere when these two sat in front and beside me, I continued to observe the passing scenery outside, when they both pulled out their mobile phones and hit the music button.
Omg how anyone can call speeded up music that makes them sound like a load of chipmunks is beyond me. The lass was playing a Chav rendition of country roads at least I think it was, I got the country roads bit anyhow, what made it worse was the lad was playing a completely different song but of the same style and louder which made it sound even worse. They were both swearing and cussing for no particular reason except to make them get noticed, if playing that crap music wasn’t enough. So poor little me was sandwiched in by these two annoying Chavs for most of my journey home. I was getting more irritated by the minute and couldn’t wait til they both got off. When they did disembark I was so relieved and the usual sound of the wheels clambering over the tracks seemed so calming in comparison, you could just about hear the conversations among the other passengers.
Some old girl was tutting and complaining about the "racket" she’d just heard, while a young girl behind me was obviously chatting to her lover or boyfriend on the phone because she was whispering as quiet as she could, but you could just make out she was talking dirty to whoever was on the other end of the line, I remember those days well. I couldn’t help but smile to myself, then my stop came and I had to walk into the gusty winds and rain to reach my destination …home.

Yup, today is the day when all of us smokers are meant to quit smoking for one day, tell me what is the point, if your gonna quit smoking for one day, you may as well quit for good. My new years res was to stop but having smoked for 20 years I’m finding it hard, I keep making excuses not to quit, like I enjoy it , It’s my only vice, I’m addicted. My stepsons often bring it up, the youngest one who’s 5, not so long ago said " Ella why do you smoke? it will make you old and you will die". Wise head on little shoulders.
So maybe some day soon I will take courage and beat the habit just not yet and certainly not for just one day.

Jared who is seen as a troubled child finds a hidden room and discovers Spiderwicks Chronicles, not taking heed of the warning, he opens it releasing Goblins, not knowing there is a protective circle around the house, Jared takes the book outside where the goblins see it and try to retrieve it. As he reads more of the chronicles he begins to understand it’s power and what it will mean if the big boss gets hold of it, therefore has to find a way of either destroying the book or the Almighty.

A great family film, children and adults alike will enjoy the magical spirit of the film, with some funny moments from Hogsqueal. Definitely worth watching

Well they’ve managed to survive several weeks of, setbacks, slip ups and some nasty knocks. The final four did a great job of showing their new found skills last night, I didn’t catch the first half hour of it last night as I was finishing of my decorating, but what I did catch of Gareth Gates performance to Bon Jovi’s Living On A Prayer didn’t impress me, it looked a bit stiff in places, but he gave all he had so he should be proud even though he didn’t make it through to the finals.
Suzanne Shaw skated brilliant to The bangles Eternal Flame and looked amazing in her solo even though apparently she improvised, I wouldn’t have known if it hadn’t of been for Christopher Dean mentioning it, she always seems to have great poise when she does her lifts and looks elegant with it, even though she says she was nervous she always seems to look professional and constantly has a lovely smile.
Zaraah Abrahams, well she’s a bit of a dark horse, last week she didn’t do so well but totally made up for it this week, she showed so much passion to a great song by U2 and Mary J Blige’s One and executed her lifts fantastically, considering she has been in the competition for less time than the others it makes you wonder how great she would have been given the same length of time to perform.
Chris Fountain who skated to Ricky Martin’s Livin La Vida Loca is great, but he definitely knows it, from week one he has been determined to show of his skills, personally I think he had an unfair advantage in the first place, what with being an ice hockey player.
I have no doubt that the final two will be Chris and Suzanne as they both have been consistent with their performances, I do hope though that Suzanne will come first as she has had to start from scratch with Chris taking a close second and Zaraah, not to be shrugged at in third place.
