Another young girl that has gone missing is Shannon Matthews.

Shannon Matthews is a 9 year old girl who failed to return to her home in Moorside Road, Dewsbury Moor, West Yorkshire, 2 weeks ago after going for a swimming lesson. Houses close to her home have been searched and several drivers have been stopped in the area to ask if they have seen anything. She was last seen dressed in a black jumper with a school logo, a white cotton T-shirt, black trousers and a waist-length black coat with fur round the hood. She was also wearing distinctive pink and grey "Bratz" furry boots.

Police are also investigating an attempted abduction of another child on the same day Shannon Matthews went missing.The attempted kidnap happened in Wakefield on Tuesday morning - Shannon went missing in the afternoon a few miles away in Dewsbury.The 12-year-old girl was approached by a man in a gold coloured saloon car who asked her to get into the vehicle.
