Air Crash Kills 5

Mar 31, 2008 Author: Ella | Filed under: Current Affairs

Yesterday five people were killed in a plane crash in my original home county of Kent.

The light aircraft left Biggin Hill Airport due for France, but immediately began to have problems and the pilot was reported to have called mayday seconds before it crashed, while trying to do an emergency landing back at Biggin Hill, unfortunately it crashed less than five miles of the runway into two houses in Farnbourough before being engulfed in flames, both houses were also ablaze. There were three passengers destined for France and two pilots who were all killed.

Emergency Authorities are saying that it could have been much worse if it had crashed further into the small estate where children were playing outside, witnesses say they saw the plane crashing through fences less than 25 yards from their homes, also eyewitnesses have described seeing panic on the faces of those inside the aircraft before the twin-engined Cessna Citation I clipped a building and crashed.one man rushed to the scene as he thought that his son was playing near the houses where the plane crashed, but found him unharmed, he also said that there was nothing that anyone could have done to save the passengers or pilots. The couple of one of the houses destroyed was away on holiday at the time.

Those who died have not yet been formally identified but they are said to include pilot Mike Roberts and passengers David Leslie, 54, a former British Touring Car champion driver and Richard Lloyd, 63, the boss of Apex Motorsport who was also a former touring car champion.

Our thoughts and prayers go to those that have lost family and friends on this flight and also to the deceased.

Culling In Canada, Put A Stop To It

Mar 30, 2008 Author: Ella | Filed under: Current Affairs

I’ve just been sitting here watching the news and had to turn away as it was so distressing. I cant believe men can be so cruel as to slaughter poor defenseless animals like the seal pups. Canada has now entered the culling season, which I think is so f@#king wrong. How a man can just club and batter the poor things is beyond me, being an animal lover this makes me so wild and to be honest makes me think evil thoughts against these perpetrators. Is there nothing that can stop this evil  and downright barbaric act.

I don’t get how anyone can eat these beautiful creatures surely there is something more tastier to eat also I am anti fur and can’t understand how a famous person or those with riches would want to wear any animal skin, whether it died of natural causes or killed deliberately. IT LOOKS BETTER ON THE ANIMAL NOT YOU. I think it just makes the person who is wearing it look real ugly, what if fashion decided to make garments out of human skin, would they be as quick to own one then, I think not.

So Please do something to help stop the culling,

Leona Breaks America

Mar 29, 2008 Author: Ella | Filed under: Music

On my other blog I mentioned that I auditioned for the X Factor, and that I was glad I didn’t get through because it was the year Leona Lewis won. That is definitely an understatement as she has now reached Number 1 in the USA, you go girl.

It’s been 20 years since a British artist last reached the top ten charts let alone reach number one, it’s quite an acheivement as no other British artist has managed to break them ,even Robbie Williams as good as he is. I have to say I see her having much success over there as the Americans tend to love that warbling sound, no disrespect. Her first single A Moment  Like This the song she recorded for X Factor, is still catchy for us considering it’s been out now for over a year and her Bleeding Love is just as great. We have heard it that much nowthough  that it’s a tad irritating, why the radios have to spoil it and play it to death I Don’t know, it’s a bit like Bryan Adams Everything I do, great song but after playing it over a million times you just want to switch channels.

So American fans of Leona enjoy her, I’m sure you will love her new songs.

With that heres a video of her latest track Better In Time in aid of Sport Relief in the UK.

Couple Come Forward To Claim Son

Mar 28, 2008 Author: Ella | Filed under: Current Affairs

A young Indian boy was  abandoned at a London bus stop last week, he then walked into a health center. Police have been trying to find out where he has come from, it was established that he could only speak Punjabi and that a white ‘uncle’ had been looking after him since his parents died.

He came to England 3 years ago around the same time a 6 year old was snatched from his home in Aurangabad in the eastern state of Bihar. When his picture appeared on Indian TV a young couple said he resembled their son who had been snatched,

Authorities are now trying to determine whether the child is theirs. The child who is 9 is in care of social services while they determine where he is from. Some reports are saying that he may have been the victim of human trafficking. With luck I hope that this is the young boy that the couple claim to be theirs, it must have broken their heart when their son went missing.

Big Bear

Mar 27, 2008 Author: Ella | Filed under: TV In General

I’ve been watching British adventurer Bear Grylls of late and find his techniques and advice on survival interesting. Having achieved so much at the young age of 33, from surviving breaking his back in three places, to almost being killed when ice collapsed under him leaving him dangling thousands of feet by just a rope, he certainly knows his stuff when it comes to survival. The man has courage and guts and is for sure living life to the full, through his skills he shows people how to survive if caught in an unexpected event, lets say in this instance a plane crash in the Sahara. He shows you how to get fluids the unconventional way, the odd dead camel and its water reservoir in its tummy or even from its digested food, even drinking your own pee if you don’t happen to come across a camel carcass, and the things he eats for protein and such as, bugs, frogs and snakes well lets just say I don’t think I’d last one day, I couldn’t bear (no pun intended) to put such things in my mouth.

His wife  is lucky to have a man that will push her to the limits if ever caught in that sort of situation for real. I wonder though how many bottles of mouthwash she asks him to drink before giving her a kiss when he returns from his expeditions.

Apocalypto

Mar 26, 2008 Author: Ella | Filed under: Film Reviews

I watched this film over the weekend. Those of you have have not yet seen this film it’s worth viewing.

The story is set about a dying Mayan civilization which sees a young warrior Jaguar Paw being captured along with other tribes, and taken to a temple where beliefs of human sacrifice is paramount. After he manages to escape his captors he is then chased through the forest where he hunts, to return to where he left his pregnant wife and child in the safety of deep hole, he has to return before it is too late.

A great film that has action from the offset, it is set with subtitles which isn’t distracting, some it has some violent scenes, all told it is a good story of love strength and determination, definitely worth watching if you haven’t seen it already

I’m Back

Mar 25, 2008 Author: Ella | Filed under: General Blog

Well hello again everyone , I’m back from my Easter break with my mum, we had a great time, even though not one drop of alcohol passed our lips. The choccy eggs made up for that, I’m sure some of them had booze in as come Monday I felt I had a rotten hangover.

We decided to take my mum out for the day on Saturday, to Eastbourne, she’d never been before so we just got in the car and drove, she had a bad bout of motion sickness on the way, I don’t think it helped with the dodgy overpowering perfume she sprayed all over herself ,even I felt sick and I travel well. She was OK when we got there though ,the fresh sea air cleared her lungs and the cobwebs which in turn made her hungry so we ended up getting fish n chips. We then took a pleasant walk into the town which I have to admit ,is no different from any other seaside town, the usual tacky seaside shops selling rocks ,candy floss and the sorts, it did make a change though. I don’t think any of us will rush back mind.

It took us just over five hours to return today, my head is pounding, but it’s soooo nice to be back home, I love my mum dearly and love to spend time with her but it’s always good to get home to your home comforts, especially my bed, she bought one of them foam mattresses for the bed, you know the sort, astronauts supposedly use them, it’s like sleeping on a brick I can tell you, the only advantage I found was it stopped the other half snoring, mind you that might of been because of the lack of sleep rather than sorting his sinuses out. All in all though we did have a great time with surprisingly no tiffs or barnies (which usually happens after more than 2 days).

So with that my lovely readers It’s back to reality and I will speak to you tomorrow xx

Quick Change Artists

Mar 23, 2008 Author: Ella | Filed under: Videos

Whilst looking for something interesting to watch by way of illusions The Guinness World Record of Quick Change Artist 2008 came up…

I think you’ll agree its quite an achievement especially as women generally take hours just to put one dress on, let alone 15 in 2 minutes, well deserving to be in the book I’d say

Heathers Settlement

Mar 19, 2008 Author: Ella | Filed under: Current Affairs

So heather Mills finally got what she wanted, a whopping 25 million pounds in her divorce settlement after being married to Sir Paul Mcartney for just four years. Even then she still was’nt content with such a huge amount and appealled saying she needed more to support her daughter, which I’m glad the courts turned down, the amount of money she recieved would set up several people for life, let alone a single mum and a  four year old.

As well as wanting more money for supporting her child she still wanted 40 grand a year for wine, which she does’nt drink no more and 35 grand for horses that she doesnt even ride, I can only dream of possesing such money, thats in my life time and several more after, not bloody four years. I cant help think, as I’m sure others do, that she is just a gold digger. I know Sir Paul has millions but in honesty what gives her the right. From the beginning of their relationship I thought it was dodgy that such a young woman would want to be with a much older man unless it was for financial purposes.

So beware all you old croonies with loadsa wads, you may pick a pretty pal, but is she after your wallet or you, the chances are it will be the latter.
