Movies Online

Feb 10, 2008 Author: Ella | Filed under: Free Movie Sites Online

Well it’s Sunday again, Sunday’s to me means doing absolutely nothing all day except sit on my sofa and watch some movies on my laptop, so I thought I would pass on some links to some good movie providers, the first being http://free-tv-video-online.info/internet/movies/. Sometimes the movies on here are a bit naff but there are the occasional ones that are of excellent quality, usually they are linked to yoku or something. I have watched a canny few new movies on this site as they update regularly, worth visiting if theres nothing on TV. Also another site worth mentioning is http://www.watch-movies.net/  but  at present they are updating the site, but again they have a good selection of old and new films, sometimes if I have problems loading films from project I pop on to this one to see if the quality is any better, which sometimes it is. http://www.moviesister.com is also another site which provides up to date flicks, although the choice isn’t as large as the other two I have mentioned. Again there is http://www.slyfoxtv.com  whose selection is also limited. I’m sure there are lots more movie sites out there, which I have yet to discover, when I do I will be sure to let you know about them.

Juno

Feb 9, 2008 Author: Ella | Filed under: Film Reviews

Juno is about a young girl of 16 discovering she is pregnant by her best friend. It is an enlightening film with the girl  being quite mature about the situation, and decides that adoption is the best answer. She finds a young professional couple and is determined that she will go through with her offer and befriends the adoptive couple. Meanwhile her best friend has found another girlfriend which makes her realize how much he means to her.

This is a good easy going film that describes how 16 year old Juno copes with all the complications that are bought forward and having to face an early adulthood …worth watching.

Gene Hunt The Comeback

Feb 8, 2008 Author: Ella | Filed under: Ashes to Ashes

Well I wasn’t dissapointed by last nights episode of Ashes to Ashes on BBC1 at 9pm, Gene Hunt is still on form with his comments, but has calmed down a tad since theres some posh totty present, saying that he is just as gripping, I mean litterally. Now that we have the basic introduction of the new DI Drake the next episode should be a little more enlightening with a better story line, there is obviously chemistry going on with Hunt and Drake. I just hope it doesn’t get in the way of a good storyline, So Gene Hunt bring it on.

An Act Of Cruelty

Feb 7, 2008 Author: Ella | Filed under: General Blog

As I Was on my way to work today, I picked up the free newspaper that we get on the  Metro( the paper has the same name and this article is thanks to them). So there I was happily reading the articles when I came across this article that left me seething.

I’m sure you will agree that this is just sickening that these people can put an animal through such a thing, You can clearly see the fear in the poor horses eyes, they are saying it is to attract tourists but anyone who is half humane would not visit such an attraction, It has put me off visiting such a place, as has Spain with the Bullfights ,I love traveling but with places like these, exposing animals to such cruelty  is definitely not on my list of places to visit, all i can say are some of the inhabitants of such countries  can be sick bastards. I would love to stick a Chinese person in a rink and have a lion ride on his back, they would surely shit their pants if not that, end up as lunch. Is there nothing that can be done to stop such a dreadful act.

In the British news Tuesday 5th Feruary 2008, it was announced that scientists in the UK had developed an embryo which contained  DNA from 3 people. Apparently they had some eggs that were no use for IVF and experimented with them, after 5 days they had developed into embryos and transplanted into a female guinea pig. They are also  saying that they could be the key cures to certain diseases. These scientists are hoping that further growth will be succsessful. What if this "child" has a defect or something, in addition they claiming that the procedure will not affect the childs appearance or personality, how will they know until the child is born, As  I mentioned in my first scientific post they are really taking a risk , and I disagree with them dabling with human life form, what gives them the right to act as god.

As a woman who is not entirely satisfied with her image, I have often considered going for cosmetic surgery. After watching shows like Extreme Makeover & Cosmetic Surgery live, it  is very tempting as the results are quite often astounding,

Sometimes though surgery can go drastically wrong and leave you disfigured for life, take a certain pop star ,who has virtually had his nose shaved to a stump, or the person in this disturbing image

Shocking  as it is, it is proof that cosmetic surgery is not all as it seems. This person has obviously gone for a tuck of some sort and developed an infection, poor man/woman they must have been in agony for months. Vanity seems to get the better of most of us whether it be things like hair extensions ,false nails or more drastic measures like surgery. We all in one way want to keep our youth and have the  perfect figure but is taking such a risk a worthy thing, I think not.

personally  I have decided to keep my hooked nose ,my south pointing bosoms and my saggy ass as well as my orange peel thighs and permanent baby belly.

Back To Work & Watching ‘Crap’ On TV

Feb 4, 2008 Author: Ella | Filed under: General Blog

Hello again , it’s me , I just wanted to share with you all that I started work again today, after being non functioning for 6 weeks .Yay the Uni decided that I worked that hard in their coffee shop last time, they just couldn’t do without me, it’s just a shame that it’s only temporary, nevertheless I’m now an employee. It was a bit tough today, after being out of work for so long my poor old body was ceasing up, my feet needed a good rub and unfortunately for me my better half is not available, so will just have to get my cat to do it, what with all the favors I’ve done for her I think I deserve it.

So as I said my other half is away on business which leaves me to watch he calls ‘crap’ on telly, I’ve been waiting for the new series of Americas Next top Model to start, I wonder what hopefuls are entering this  time. Last years line up was not too bad, not too many cat fights compared to the series before, where all the girls thought they were above the rest. It would be nice to see a girl that has brains, as well as a personality to match their beauty, it’s quite true what they say ,,Beauty is only skin deep

Run For Their Money

Feb 4, 2008 Author: Ella | Filed under: Dancing On Ice

Zaraah Abrahams is definitely giving Gareth Gates, Suzanne Shaw and Chris Fountain a run for their money . After only joining the show last week because the unfortunate Michael Underwood had to withdraw, she has shown that she is just as capable of reaching the finals as much as those who have been in the show for the past four weeks or so. Each week the stars are improving and taking more risks, although some still remain a little stagnant. Chris Fountains ice version of Rock Horor Picture Show was highly entertaining as was Suzanne Shaws rendition of Fame. It was a shame to see Aggie go as I think she was quite gutsy  and didn’t  give up, despite that awful Jason putting her every move down. I’d love to see what he can do on the ice except polish it with his ass. The competition will hot up pretty soon, with props being introduced and more riskier lifts as well as faster paced music tracks. It’s pretty hard to decipher who will be the winner this year as there are four potential winners, and they are all going to put up a fight to the end … best of luck to them all.

June Brown Aka Dot Brannings Solo Star Performance

Feb 3, 2008 Author: Ella | Filed under: TV In General

After watching Thursdays nights episode of Eastenders on the 31st February. I was truly amazed at how June Brown, the wrinkly bible basher known as Dot Branning played her part. Half an hour with no one else to keep her company apart from her chirpy budgie, a packet of fags and a dodgy recording device from the 80s, kept me captivated, I mean to act is one thing but she really pushed the boat out this time recording a message to her ill husband Jim, from talking about her childhood right through to the loves of her life, including her wayward son Nick Cotton. For me it will be an episode that definitely deserves an award of some kind.

June Brown has  played the role of Dot from 1985 to 1993, and then returned in 1997 to the present day. Personally  I think she is an interesting character which over the years has gained more popularity and some people can relate to in some way or another, either by knowing someone like her or having gone through experiences she has had …long live Dot Branning.

From Life On Mars to Ashes To Ashes

Feb 2, 2008 Author: Ella | Filed under: Ashes to Ashes

Yes Yes Yes, I’ve been waiting a long time for the follow up series. Anyone in the UK will have heard of Life On Mars, where a cop called Sam Tyler gets hit by a car, slips into a coma and has somehow transported to 1973, The memories of the seventies came flooding back, what with dodgy haircuts and tank tops as well as corrupt pissed bullies posing as police(nowt new there I hear you say) The music was great though. Getting back to the series basically Sam Tyler is a modern cop who is used to the Internet and modern techniques, some things his colleagues had not even heard of for example stakeouts, which they thought was eating beef sarnies and working undercover what they assumed was in bed lol, any how it was a good series so I’m not going to miss this one.

So here it is the long awaited Ashes To Ashes which is being aired on Thursday 7th February at 9pm on BBC1. This series reflects on Sam Tyler’s Gaffer, Gene Hunt, who is now working in London in the 80s, another great era, I imagine this series to be just as successful as the first, more swearing , more abuse and plenty of laughs

Don’t Miss It
